Hawaii Black Sand Beach

This is not a black and white photo, it's a picture of a Hawaii Black Sand Beach that we recently visted on the the Big Island of Hawaii.

This was one of the most awesome, memorable Hawaii vacations our family has ever taken and I have to say that the highlight of the trip for the adults as well as the kids was visiting this beach.

White sugar sand is pretty but the view across the volcanic black sand was so dramatic especially at one point when a storm was rolling in and there was such a unique correlation between the charcoal gray of the sand and the gray skies with the billowing storm clouds and the waves rolling in. I'm very sorry that I neglected to capture this scene in a picture.

While we were visiting the Hawaii black sand beach we were treated to sightings of sea turtles that stopped to rest just above the surf line.
