The actual address of the Squaw Valley Ski Resort is Olympic Valley, California but is the next to the biggest ski area in Lake Tahoe exceed only by the Heavenly resort. This resort is known as not only one of the largest but one of the more high-concept skiing destinations in the United States and a fact that is probably of little interest to modern skiing enthusiasts, it’s was where the 1960 Winter Olympics were held. Modern skiiers will be more interested in the high speed chairlifts and the aerial lift, the Funitel.
BEST TIME TO VISIT SQUAW VALLEY
Most of the 600,000 plus snow skiers visit the Squaw Valley resort between the middle of November through the latter part of May but before you book that vacation package, you should always refer to the latest snow report to check conditions. The lodge is great, but snow is what we’re after!
SQUAW VALLEY SKI RESORT MAP
Many skiers find the 3D resort map of the resort area very useful. It helps advanced skiers maximize their enjoyment of the slopes as well as beginners by showing them where to find the easiest runs. But many experts could not care less about maps identifying the slopes according to skill level because they just go wherever the fun is.
