I’m sure that you have lots of vacation ideas and vague images of what you imagine that your getaway will be like. We all hear our friends and co-workers sigh and complain that they need a vacation, but there is no real plan of action.
If you want a stress and worry free vacation, you have to have a plan.
A weekend family getaway should be an opportunity to rest and re-connect with your spouse or your children. Get to know your children before they become adults or give yourself and your lover a chance to be lovers again before life got so hectic. There’s no way that anyone can say what your dream vacation might entail other than yourself and your travel partners. As a matter of fact, I recommend that both bride and groom collaborate on the honeymoon trip with each contributing their own ideas of what the vacation should be.
IDEAS FOR A PERFECT VACATION
Think of what you would do on any given day if you had all the money and time to do exactly what you want. Keep wild ideas like ruling a kingdom or activities that you aren’t trained for like skydiving or stuff like that for your fantasies. We're looking for adventure on our vacations, but let's stick to realistic adventures for the time being. I believe the objective of a restful, worry free or even an adventurous vacation is to make it back in one piece. Try to keep your list of ideas very broad at this point. An example might be whether or not you prefer mountains to a beach and expand your ideas from there.
WEATHER
Weather is always an issue when it comes to travel. In our vacation tips I try to get local reports on what the weather might be at any given time of year, but as we all know weather is very unpredictable. No matter how meticulously laid out your plans might be to arrive at any given destination when the weather is reported to be at its finest, there’s always the off chance of rain. My advice is to add a Plan B to your vacation plans to cover all possibilities.
MODE OF TRAVEL
How will you get to your ideal destination? Air travel is considered by some to be the best way to go, but if you are traveling with the family as a group, airfare may be expensive. You may want to develop some vacation ideas around a cruise or train travel.
